Welcome to our

2 day program!

Little Bean's 2 day program allows our youngest here the opportunity to explore through fun, loosely structured activities.  Their mornings are filled with music, art, small group activities, and free play.  This program offers a monthly theme and concentrates on age appropriate skills, such as color & shape recognition and counting skills.

A lot of our 2 day program revolves play based learning.  At Little Beans, we believe that children learn a lot from having the opportunity to explore their environment & socialize with their peers.  All of the "toys" in our learning centers are chosen carefully, to ensure fun & learning at the same time.

Our 2 day program is held Tuesday & Thursday mornings 8:45-11:45 throughout the school year.

daily Schedule

8:30-8:45- arrival
Our doors open up at 8:30.
8:45-9:30- free play
As the kids arrive they have time for free play in our various centers.  This time allows them to get into the groove of the morning and meet  & play with their little friends before we begin our day.
9:30-9:45- circle time
Our morning meeting time!  We think it's important for the kids to feel like we're our own little community. We use this time to talk about what we'll be doing that morning, sing songs, dance, read a story, and talk about things that are important to each of them.
9:45-10:00- small group activity
Each month, our 2 day program focuses on a shape and color.  We use this first small group time to reinforce one of those concepts in a fun way- painting, working on our monthly shape book, going on a color hunt, etc.
10:00-10:30- free play
Free play is an important time for the kids to learn social skills and different concepts from the many centers in our room which include- number center, discovery center, sensory bins, reading center, art center, writing center, and block center.  Shhh- don't tell the kids, but everything in our room has a reason for being there.  We purchase all of our "toys" to focus on specific age appropriate learning concepts.
10:30-10:45- snack time
Snack is provided by Little Beans and consist of milk or water and a small yummy snack such as crackers, cookies, fruit, etc.
10:45-11:00- story time
We read a short story that goes along with our monthly theme.  We often use this time to sing themed songs also.
11:00-11:15- small group activity
We use this time to do a fun activity around our monthly theme.  It could be an art project, gross motor skill activity, sensory fun, age appropriate science activity.
11:15-11:30- free play
As we finish up our last small group activity, we head to free play as our friends finish up, too.
11:30-11:45- closing circle time
A quick recap of what we did that morning & what we'll do when they come back.  We often finish our morning with a favorite song.
